The State of Arizona, USDA Forest Service and DOI Bureau of Land Management are expected to provide funding assistance to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management for fire prevention, critical infrastructure protection and forest and watershed restoration through reduction of hazardous vegetation from state, federal, tribal and private lands in Arizona. Total funding of approximately $3 million will be made available through sub-awards (grants) from DFFM on a reimbursement basis and awarded through a competitive process with emphasis on community protection and forest health. Multiple awards not exceeding $500,000 are expected. Organizations may submit more than one project application, but total funding may be limited to $500,000. Priority will be given to projects that support private industry and/or Arizona’s wood products industry. Priority will be given to projects that have not received prior treatments. Financial Notes: Total funding of approximately $3 million will be made available through sub-awards (grants) from the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management on a reimbursement basis and awarded through a competitive process with emphasis on community protection and forest health. Awards will be limited to a minimum of $60,000 and maximum of $500,000 per project. Depending on total available funding, some projects may be offered only partial funding. All projects will require a 10% - 30% match contribution (ie: 90% Grant + 10% Match = 100% Project Total). Match source must be identified in the project application. Larger requests will require larger match contributions. Priority will be given to projects that support private industry and/or Arizona’s wood products industry. Priority will be given to projects that have not received prior treatments. Proposals not meeting minimum match requirements will impact the overall score. Funds will be dispersed to recipients on a reimbursement basis after they incur cost and report accomplishments and expenses to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management.
